Selca - Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Selca mobile application ("App," "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Selca Is
Selca is a K-beauty styling app. It offers appearance-based analyses — such as the animal-face quiz, personal color, and skin blueprint — generated from quiz answers you provide and, where available, an optional face photo. It also lets you keep a shelf of products you use and browse product recommendations.
1.1 Appearance Only — Not Medical Advice
All analyses and recommendations describe appearance and styling only. Nothing in the Service is medical, dermatological, diagnostic, or therapeutic advice, and the Service does not detect, diagnose, treat, or predict any health condition. If you have concerns about your skin or health, consult a qualified professional.
1.2 Results Are Subjective
Analyses are generated by automated systems from the inputs you provide. They are styling opinions for entertainment and personal-styling purposes, not statements of fact, and results may vary between runs.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least thirteen (13) years of age to create an account or use the Service. If you are between 13 and 17, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has consented to your use of the Service. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will terminate the account and delete all associated data.
You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned from it or if using it is prohibited by law where you live.
3. Accounts
3.1 Registration
You can create an account with a valid email address or by signing in with Apple or Google. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
3.2 Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at the contact address below of any unauthorized use.
3.3 Username
You may choose a unique username (letters, numbers, and underscores). We may reclaim or disable usernames that impersonate others, infringe trademarks, or violate these Terms.
4. Face Photos
Face photos are always optional — every analysis can run from quiz answers alone. If you choose to share a photo:
- It is used only to run the analysis you requested.
- It is processed and then deleted; we do not keep the photo after the analysis completes.
- We never generate or store face geometry, faceprints, or any biometric identifier or template.
Photo-based features may be unavailable in some regions where local law imposes additional biometric-data requirements.
5. Purchases
The Service offers one-time in-app purchases only. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges. Purchases are billed by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their terms, and their refund policies apply. Purchased analyses are consumed when the corresponding result is delivered.
Except where required by law or by the applicable app store's policy, purchases are non-refundable once the purchased analysis has been delivered.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- Submit photos of anyone other than yourself without their consent;
- Attempt to probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
- Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the Service;
- Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Your Content
You retain ownership of the information you submit (quiz answers, shelf entries, photos). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate and improve the Service as described in the Privacy Policy. Analysis results generated for you are for your personal, non-commercial use.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANALYSES WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Privacy & account. Deletion starts a 30-day grace period during which you can restore your account by signing back in. After the grace period, your account and associated data are permanently deleted.
12. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; if we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8-10) survive.
